Get outdoors and gain the skills you need to become a qualified agricultural tradesperson.

This qualification will provide you with a generalist vocational qualification in agriculture that will set you up to work as a Farm or Station Hand in either a livestock production or cropping context, or mixed farming enterprise.

This qualification is ideal if you are currently working in the rural industry and want to gain a formal qualification for the work you already do, or if you have already completed some units and now want to gain the entire qualification.

This is also an excellent course if you need to gain skills to satisfy various industry licensing requirements, or are simply looking to leave your desk job behind and change careers to work in the rural industry.

In this course you will learn about safe and environmentally sustainable farm practices, along with other selected skill areas such as establishing and maintaining crops, irrigation, livestock production, chemical use and pest management, and machinery operations and maintenance.

Successful completion of this course will enable you to seek employment as qualified agricultural tradesperson with the ability to perform tasks in a variety of agricultural contexts, or you may wish to continue on to further study and undertake AHC40122 – Certificate IV in Agriculture.

This course is available for new and existing workers in the agriculture industry. You can achieve this qualification as an apprentice/trainee – which requires an employment arrangement and training contract, or as a workplace-based student. Both these options include a combination of on-the-job training, off-the-job workshops and self-paced study.
