You’ll also learn how to implement a plant nutrition program, and how to effectively control weeds, plant pests, diseases and disorders, and how to contribute to work health and safety processes. Throughout the course, you’ll develop your skills and knowledge in operating specialised machinery to construct turf playing surfaces and renovate sports turf, as well as how to install pressurised irrigation systems.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in Sports Turf Management, and be equipped with the specialist skills you’ll need to maintain sports turf to a high standard at a variety of sports venues.

This course is available for new and existing workers within the sports turf management sector, you must have access to a suitable workplace for the practical components of the course and be working with an appropriately experienced person. You can achieve this qualification as an apprentice – which requires an employment arrangement and training contract, or as a workplace-based student.
