Get practical, transferrable skills and knowledge to thrive in a variety of workplaces!

Are you known for your organisational skills? Do you enjoy helping others? A career in business administration could be for you!

This comprehensive business qualification will equip you with the skills and knowledge to make you a valuable asset in a variety of workplaces! This course is ideal if you are exploring a career in business administration, or if you are looking to gain valuable, transferrable skills you can use across many industries.

In this course you’ll learn a range of practical skills including designing, writing and producing simple business documents, personal wellbeing and work priorities, workplace communication, critical thinking and inclusive work practices. This nationally-recognised qualification is ideal if you are looking to develop a wide-range of entry-level skills for working in a modern office environment. Put yourself ahead of your peers when applying for your first administrative job, or give yourself a skills boost in your current role.

The Certificate III in Business is an applied qualification. This means the student is required to clearly demonstrate practical assessment relating to most units. This either occurs in a workplace (in a paid or volunteer position) or if not available, in a simulated work environment (provided by TasTAFE).

There will be a requirement for role-plays, meetings and consulting with others. These practical assessments can be demonstrated online, in the workplace or you will need to attend a campus, where your application of skills can be physically demonstrated. The workplace needs to have the scope and environment for you to consult with others, make recommendations and organise meetings. These will need to be recorded for a teacher to observe. This aspect of the assessment is required for you to meet competency.

Successful completion of this qualification will prepare you to seek entry level employment across a wide range of business or administrative roles. You may also like to use this qualification as a pathway for study at Certificate IV level, such as TasTAFE’s Certificate IV in Business (BSB40120).

This course is also available as a Traineeship.
