Start a career in construction by learning how to fix walls and ceilings in residential and commercial settings.

In this qualification you will learn how to fix standard plasterboard wall sheets, fix standard plasterboard ceiling sheets, construct and install bulkheads, assemble partitions and fix battens.

In addition, you will learn how to fix wet area sheets, fix ceiling sheets to external protected areas, fix fibre cement board, mix plastering compounds, finish plasterboard joints manually and manually sand plaster work, cut and fix paper-faced cornices and install suspended ceilings.

You will also learn how to work safely at heights, plan and organise work, carry out measurements and calculations, read and interpret plans and specifications and apply work health and safety (WHS) requirements, policies and procedures.

This qualification is offered as an Australian Apprenticeship and requires you to be employed by a suitable industry-specific employer. You will attend scheduled campus-based training during your employment.
