Get creative and design a bold future career for yourself as a Graphic Designer.

This nationally recognised qualification is an excellent opportunity for you to build on your current creative and technical skills in print and electronic media.

In this course, you will learn how to solve real-life design problems to achieve positive print and digital outcomes through a number of real-life and simulated projects. You’ll learn how to develop and extend your critical and creative thinking skills and how to interpret and respond to a design brief, as well as source and apply information on the history and theory of design and generate design solutions for clients.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work on a creative project, where you will learn how to integrate colour theory and design processes, and produce innovative digital images, as well as develop and refine illustrative work, use typography techniques and prepare files for publication.

As part of the course, you will also develop your skills in writing content for a range of media and build simple websites using commercial programs.

On successful completion of this course, you will possess the core skills needed to pursue a career in the Graphic Design industry working across a range of areas including animation, illustration and printmaking to name just a few! Alternatively, you may choose to continue your studies at TasTAFE by enrolling in the Diploma of Graphic Design.
