Build your career in Accounting, Bookkeeping and Finance.
Are you a number-cruncher looking to acquire bookkeeping skills to start work in the industry and become a registered member of one of the professional bookkeeping associations?
In this course, you will learn how to prepare and lodge business and instalment activity statements, and provide advice or deal with the Commissioner on behalf of a taxpayer in relation to activity statements.
Throughout the course, you'll learn how to administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers, complete business activity and instalment activity statements, establish and maintain payroll systems, and introduce cloud computing into business operations.
You’ll also have the chance to develop your skills in preparing financial reports, processing financial transactions and extracting interim reports as well as setting up and operating a computerised accounting system.
Successful completion of this mid-level qualification will prepare you for employment in the accounting industry as a BAS agent or contract bookkeeper, and/or roles performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a wide range of industries. You may also be interested in undertaking further study at TasTAFE to gain further financial qualifications through the FNS50217 – Diploma of Accounting.
