Training for individuals currently employed in a sterilising or instrument reprocessing area.
This qualification is designed for individuals engaged in instrument sterilisation within a sterilising service or reprocessing area. These environments may include hospitals, day procedure centres, or large-scale medical and dental practices.
To enrol in this course, you must currently work in a sterilising service or reprocessing area and have your manager’s support.
Completing this course will enhance your skills and knowledge in the sterilisation area, complementing the practical experience you gain on the job. It is delivered flexibly through workbooks, online modules, and practical assessments conducted in your workplace.
The course covers essential topics such as business applications in sterilisation, workplace communication, medical terminology, infection control, and safety practices. Additionally, you will study specific units on instrument reprocessing and steam and chemical sterilisation.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a nationally accredited qualification. If you complete some units, you will receive a statement of attainment detailing those units.
