On Friday 14 June, we celebrated 24 emerging Tasmanian leaders from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds who graduated from our Diverse Leadership Program (DLP).

In its second year of delivery, the program is an exciting partnership between the Multicultural Council of Tasmania (MCOT), TasTAFE and Migrant Talent Connector that aims to increase the diversity of the Tasmanian workforce in management and decision-making positions.

The program focused on management skills including goal setting and planning, conflict management, accountability, team building and negotiation.

Speaking at today’s graduation event at TasTAFE’s Clarence Campus, MCOT CEO, Lee Wilson, said the program helps to create a workforce that reflects the diverse communities in which we live with cultural diversity represented at all levels of businesses.’

TasTAFE Acting Director Future Students and Industry, Matt Dance highlighted the fact that the DLP is ‘another example of TasTAFE continuing to work collaboratively with key stakeholders, like MCOT, in delivering fit-for-purpose programs that promote access and opportunity for all Tasmanians.’

Congratulations to all the graduates!
