TasTAFE Campbell Street Campus temporarily closed due to water damage
Monday, 9 December 2024
A burst water main at TasTAFE’s Campbell Street Campus has required the building to be closed until further notice while a clean-up takes place.
Water from the burst pipe on the ground floor has caused significant damage to the Ground Floor and Basement levels of the building.
The water damage was discovered on Sunday 8 December, and the clean-up is underway.
While the floors from Level 1 and above were not impacted, the entire building needs to be closed while the clean-up occurs.
Fortunately, all teaching at the campus has finished for the year, so there is minimal impact on our learners.
Arrangements are being made for staff usually based at Campbell Street Campus to work from the Drysdale Hobart Campus in Collins St or TasTAFE’s Clarence Campus in Warrane on a temporary basis.
An update will be provided once a further assessment of damage is completed and a timeframe for staff to return to the campus is clearer.
