TasTAFE is excited to announce the upcoming delivery of a Volvo FM Euro 6 truck to our Alanvale Campus in Launceston – part of our longstanding and successful relationship with Webster Trucks, including the supply of training, tools, equipment and ongoing services.

For TasTAFE Automotive learners studying Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, this late-model vehicle presents the opportunity to work with the most advanced technology in their field – enhancing their learning experience and preparing them for the current and future industry.

The Volvo’s cutting-edge features include:

  • compliance with the latest environmental emission standards
  • state-of-the-art electrical architecture
  • industry-leading safety systems
  • sophisticated, fully automated transmission; and
  • advanced electric-controlled braking and stability systems.

For TasTAFE Automotive teachers, our partnership also includes access to Professional Development training led by Webster Trucks’ in-house TAE-qualified trainer, Adam Russell. With over 25 years of hands-on technical experience, Adam will support our teachers’ knowledge of the latest advancements in the industry.

Our Automotive teachers (pictured) began their training in December last year, with a preliminary visit to Webster Trucks in Hobart.

We’re looking forward to taking delivery of the Volvo FM Euro 6 in March.
